Communion is an Afro-diasporic dinner series and public storytelling project exploring cultural and spiritual connections between Mississippi and the African diaspora through food. It is rooted in grounding, healing, and celebrating the rich culinary, medicinal, and agricultural foodways of Africa and her Diasporas. This visual arts experience centers Black foodways as a medium for visual storytelling, intergenerational memory, and collective nourishment.
Communion is generously supported by Sipp Culture’s inaugural TBD Fund. This grant is made possible by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts
